Associate Pastor.

Job Position Overview

Common Good Church seeks a full-time associate pastor who will join the pastoral team (co-founding pastors) and church leadership team (elder board). The associate pastor will oversee, manage, and execute the day-to-day operations of the church and its ministries; including, but not limited to facilitating Sunday gatherings, community group ministry (Co-ops), community service events (Love Your Neighbor Sunday), and other ministry activities.

Detailed Job Responsibilities

Shared Responsibilities (with founding pastors and elder board)

  • Support and collaborate with founding pastors in the overall vision casting, leadership and direction of the church

  • Help develop and drive church culture, strategy and initiatives

  • Engage in regular preaching/teaching

  • Execute church curriculum and programs

  • Pastoral care, discipleship, leadership development and mentorship to congregants

Unique Responsibilities (areas of emphasis)

  • Curate and manage Sunday worship experiences by designing and implementing liturgical elements as well as providing leadership and oversight to Sunday ministry teams and volunteer groups ensuring weekend services (in-person and virtual) are well-planned and executed

  • Oversee and provide spiritual support to all ministry leaders, teams, and volunteers. Priority will be on the ministries related to congregational health, community building, and discipleship formation

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors/guests and lead all onboarding initiatives to welcome and engage with new members

  • Responsible for tracking the spiritual growth and progress of all members

  • Implement and execute determined church curriculum, programs and initiatives

  • Plan, manage and execute on church calendar of events

Qualifications

  • You are a mature believer with a commitment to continual spiritual formation and emotional health

  • You are culturally sensitive and humble with experience working in multi-cultural and/or pan-asian environments

  • You possess theological depth (some seminary training) and are committed to ongoing spiritual practices and learning

  • You have experience working in a dynamic, forward-thinking small church setting

  • You have a collaborative working style and enjoy team dynamics

  • You are independent, proactive, and take initiative; while enjoying collaborative decision making

  • You are detail oriented with strong administrative and project management skills

  • You are a strong and gifted oral and written communicator with some preaching/teaching experience (or a willingness to learn and grow in this area)

  • You have experience overseeing, leading and mobilizing teams in action toward a goal (inside and/or outside of a local church context)

Children’s & Families Ministry Director.

Job Position Overview

The role is for a part-time Children & Family Ministry Director whose primary responsibilities are to ensure that we are providing a safe and nurturing environment of love, belonging, and inclusion for every child to grow into their identity and faith beliefs, and that parents feel empowered and equipped to be the primary spiritual mentors.

Detailed Job Responsibilities

  • Work with leadership team to drive vision, develop and execute a thriving children’s and family ministry in which children and parents alike are growing in faith and feel supported and empowered.

  • Work with pastoral staff to select and adapt children’s ministry curriculum in a way that best aligns with our church’s mission, vision and theology and serves our children and families well

  • Recruit, schedule, manage and train/onboard volunteers for our Children’s ministry so that volunteers feel equipped and empowered for the task

  • Participate regularly in the teaching rotation with other volunteers

  • Oversee children’s ministry setup and programming on Sundays, and serve as the primary liaison between families and the church

  • Curate and procure necessary materials, activities, crafts, supplies and supplemental resources for children’s programming, volunteers and parents/families

  • Communicate with parents/families to provide ongoing support and resources beyond Sunday mornings

  • Help plan and execute other activities, gatherings, workshops and outreaches beyond Sunday morning children’s programming that will enhance children and families spiritual formation/development, build community amongst children and families, and provide channels of outreach and service to the greater community at large.

  • Location: Must be independently mobile, willing to commute to Bellevue, WA
